George Kallis scores Screwed

Film composer George Kallis has been brought on board to compose the music for the upcoming prison film Screwed directed by Reg Traviss, and starring James D'Arcy (Master and Commander) and Bafta award winner Noel Clarke (Centurion, Adulthood). The movie is based on the best selling book by Ronnie Thompson and explores the life of UK prison-guards aka “Screws” and what really goes on behind bars. It will be distributed by Lionsgate and is currently scheduled for theatrical release in June 2011 in the UK.

George Kallis is a new generation composer who has also composed the music for Traviss’ WWII drama Joy Division. George also composed music for Highlander The Source, the Danish blockbuster comedy Julefrokosten, and the upcoming thriller Dry Run starring Diora Baird and Max Ryan. His music is usually recognized by lush, lyrical orchestrations mixed with ethno-musicological influences.
