Composer RYAN SHORE releases his first video game score: the electronic and energetic SPY HUNTER

SPY HUNTER ORIGINAL GAME SOUNDTRACK
COMPOSED BY RYAN SHORE

Grammy Nominated Composer Scores Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Reboot of Legendary Combat Racing Series. Sound clips here and here @ WaterTower Music.

Los Angeles, CA - September 27, 2012 - Film composer Ryan Shore has created the action-driven music score for SPY HUNTER, the reboot of the legendary combat driving series, specially developed for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. Launching in North America on October 9, SPY HUNTER is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by TT Fusion. SPY HUNTER marks the first video game score for composer Ryan Shore who recently received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Score Soundtrack (The Shrine).

In the game, players take on the role of the "Agent", driver of the legendary G-6155 Interceptor Supercar, armed extensively with advanced weaponry and high-tech gadgetry, and ready to take on a global terrorist organization set on world domination. Experience total control, as the Interceptor seamlessly transforms from supercar to off-road assault vehicle to speed boat, allowing you to eliminate threats wherever your mission takes you.

For SPY HUNTER, Shore composed a contemporary hybrid music score by fusing live performances with electronic grooves and overdubs. Recording with a jazz big band Ryan acoustically re-created Henry Mancini's iconic theme to "Peter Gunn" and remixed the new arrangement with modern electronic sounds. The soundtrack will be released on Amazon MP3 and iTunes through WaterTower Music on October 9th. Preview samples of the score are available here.

Upon graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, Ryan Shore began his scoring career working for his uncle, Academy Award winning composer Howard Shore. Among his diverse motion picture portfolio, Ryan's credits include Prime, Harvard Man, Numb, The Girl Next Door and Cabin Fever 2. In addition to his 2012 Grammy nomination for The Shrine, Ryan was previously honored with the Elmer Bernstein Scoring Award and the prestigious Clive Davis Award, among numerous other industry awards. He has also played saxophone with artists including Matchbox Twenty. For more information visit www.ryanshore.com.

Ryan Shore is represented for video games by Levenson Artists Agency in association with Incite Management.

PRESS RELEASE update 8-10-12

(October 08, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA) – On October 9, 2012, WaterTower Music will release the Argo: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack at all digital retailers.  The original music was composed by four-time Academy-Award® nominee Alexandre Desplat.

The film's director Ben Affleck said, “We needed to find a theme that we would use throughout—obviously different instrumentation and tempo, but still the same piece of music." He turned to composer Alexandre Desplat. "Desplat was amazing at crafting an atypical score, incorporating uncommon instruments, many Middle Eastern in origin. It doesn’t feel too literal or cliché, but he created a sound that instantly puts you in that place.”

A four-time Academy Award® nominee, Desplat received his most recent Oscar® nod for his score for the Best Picture winner “The King’s Speech,” for which he also won a BAFTA Award and earned a Golden Globe nomination.  He previously garnered Oscar® and BAFTA Award nominations for his score for the animated “Fantastic Mr. Fox”; Oscar®, Golden Globe and BAFTA Award nominations for David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”; and Oscar® and BAFTA Award nominations for Stephen Frears’ “The Queen.” In addition, Desplat won a Golden Globe Award for John Curran’s “The Painted Veil,” and also received Golden Globe nominations for his scores for Stephen Gaghan’s “Syriana” and Peter Webber’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring.”

Desplat more recently created the scores for “The Tree of Life,” directed by Terrence Malick; George Clooney’s “The Ides of March”; “Carnage,” which reunited him with Roman Polanski; Stephen Daldry’s “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”; and the two-film finale of the Harry Potter film franchise, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Parts 1 and 2.”

Oscar® winner Ben Affleck (“The Town,” “Good Will Hunting”) directs and stars in “Argo.” Based on real events, the dramatic thriller “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis, focusing on the little-known role that the CIA and Hollywood played—information that was not declassified until many years after the event.  On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage.  But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor.  Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, the Canadian and American governments ask the CIA to intervene.  The CIA turns to their top “exfiltration” specialist, Tony Mendez, to come up with a plan to get the six Americans safely out of the country.  A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

The Argo -- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on WaterTower Music will be available digitally on October 9, 2012

New Burton and naturally, new Elfman! What can go wrong? Here's some info from amazon.com:

From creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas) comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new leash on life can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, Frankenweenie was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience. Presented by Disney, Frankenweenie is directed by Tim Burton, produced by Tim Burton and Allison Abbate, from a screenplay by John August, based on an original idea by Tim Burton.
The Frankenweenie original motion picture soundtrack score is by Oscar-nominated and GRAMMY-winning composer Danny Elfman. JAVIER NAVARRETE - Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012)

Coming fresh out of his previous work, WRATH OF THE TITANS, we are all eager to hear this new score by the Spanish composer, Javier Navarrete.

The CD holds the Original soundtrack to the HBO film starring Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman. The beautiful and adventurous score is by Academy Award nominee Javier Navarrete (Pan's Labyrinth). Also featured prominently in the film is the song 'Ay Carmela,' performed by both Voces Del Pueblo and Alarcon.
