Desplat's much awaited new score for the teenage-loved vampire series will be out November the 24th 2009, through E1 Entertainment and will contain the original score written by the composer for the 2nd installment in the franchise.

Much awaited sequel to the teenage vampire soft-porn franchise, "Twilight", comes this "New Moon" continuation of the first movie, one that was responsible for driving the masses of teenagers around the globe mad. The first not exactly aided by the sleepy Carter Burwell score it had, this new instalment comes with an equally long-awaited (for other reasons though) musical accompaniment by hot-shot French Composer, Alexandre Desplat.

ALEXANDRE DESPLAT to score the sequel to "TWILIGHT", called "NEW MOON"

According to Carter Burwell, the composer who has scored the previous teenage vampire p$$n movie, Twilight, he won't be returning to the scoring duties for the 2nd movie in the franchise, but french composer of the Curious case of Benjamin Button - Alexandre Desplat, will instead.

New Moon (also known as The Twilight Saga: New Moon or Twilight 2) is an upcoming romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release on November 20, 2009. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and is the sequel to 2008's Twilight, which is based on Meyer's previous novel. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg returns as the screenwriter for the film. She handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight. Summit Entertainment greenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight.
