JOHN DEBNEY scores "PREDATORS"

John Debney has been chosen to score the upcoming action horror movie Predators. The movie is directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy, Armored) and stars Topher Grace, Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne. (source: filmmusicreporter).

Predators is an upcoming 2010 science fiction, action and horror film directed by Nimród Antal, and starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo and Derek Mears. The film is a sequel to the 1987 film Predator. Producer Robert Rodriguez stated that he named the film "Predators" in relation to how the second film in the Alien franchise was called Aliens. The title Predators is intended to have a double meaning, in that it refers to both the film's alien creatures, as well as the group of humans that are going against them and in this movie, nine people, predators in their own right, are brought to the Predator home world, what is basically a giant game preserve, and are hunted by the creatures.

As the journalist turns on his tape recorder, Zahra takes us back to the beginning of her story which involves Soraya's husband, the local phony mullah, and a town all too easily led down a path of deceit, coercion, and hysteria. The women, stripped of all rights and without recourse, nobly confront the overwhelming desires of corrupt men who use and abuse their authority to condemn Soraya, an innocent but inconvenient wife, to an unjust and torturous death.

A shocking and true drama, it exposes the dark power of mob rule, uncivil law, and the utter lack of human rights for women. The last and only hope for some measure of justice lies in the hands of the journalist who must escape with the story — and his life — so the world will know.

Debney’s ability to deliver the perfect score in a wide variety of films has made him one of the most sought after composers in Hollywood. For Garry Marshall, Debney scored the black comedy, GEORGIA RULE, PRINCESS DIARIES 1 & 2, and RAISING HELEN; for Tom Shadyac, he scored BRUCE ALMIGHTY and EVAN ALMIGHTY.

In HOTEL FOR DOGS, a pair of orphaned siblings, Andi (Roberts) and Bruce (Austin), are forbidden by their foster parents to have a pet. The kids stumble upon an abandoned hotel and transform it into a dog-paradise for their dog Friday--and eventually for all Friday's friends. Barking dogs make the neighbors suspicious, and Andi and Bruce use every invention they have to avoid anyone discovering "who let the dogs in."

John Debney: Hannah Montana - The Movie

The movie which is based on the popular tv-series is directed by Peter Chelsom and is about the story of Hannah Montana, the popular singer.
