CLIFF EIDELMAN | He's just not that into you

His name is Cliff Eidelman and he's 44, born and living in the United States. Arguably one of the most gifted artists working in the film music scene for years, only he's not really...working that much anymore.

With the rare exceptions of pleasant, small-scale romantic film scores getting released with the man's name tag on them, the endued composer has worked in a mere 15 major film scores all these years, a time-span in which far less-talented composers with a better PR machine get to release doubles and triples of that number, of course with the factor "quality" always being killed at the grand finale.

The composer of such brilliant works as Magdalene, a grand and epic orchestral / choral work which was his first scoring assignment and composed just at the age of 26, or the massive Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Christopher Columbus: The Discovery amidst the heart-breaking and sweeping Harrison's Flowers, has long been typecasted in this sort of little family-oriented, rom-com scores, but some say "it's better than nothing".

In this vein, the newly released HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU marks his latest scoring assignment. The NEW LINE CINEMA film's directed by Ken Kwapis and stars a much-talked about brunete Scarlett Johansson along with Jennifer Aniston, Bennifer Affleck, Drew Barrymore and more. The storyline's set in Baltimore and through interconnecting story arcs focuses on the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.

The score's released in digital format on February 3, 2009 via amazon.com, where you can preview SOUND CLIPS from the score and also find out more about the release. Amazon.com also gives away one (1) free mp3 from the score.

Check it out.
