NEW INTERVIEW: REINHOLD HEIL's upcoming new Ballet work, "THE ZODIAC"

German film composer Reinhold Heil, who is known for his collaborations with director Tom Tykwer and fellow composer Johnny Klimek such as The International, The Perfume and Run Lola Run, has composed a ballet which is premiering with Janusphere Dance Company in New York on September 11. Heil’s piece is called ‘The Zodiac’ and is featured in the dance company’s new programme ‘According To Janusphere’ where other talents include jazz composer Dick Hyman and violinist Yuval Waldman.

MovieScore Magazine had the opportunity to perform a brief interview with Reinhold Heil on this new non-film work.

Tykwer / Heil / Klimek - THE INTERNATIONAL


The trio behind such films and scores as the acclaimed Perfume: the story of a murderer or Run, Lola Run as well as countless horror / thriller scores, now returns with another new project, The international.

The film's s an upcoming American action-drama film directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. The film follows a pair that investigates corruption within a banking institution. Production began in Berlin in September 2007. The International is slated to be released in North America on February 13, 2009 and it will open the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival on February 5.

The score is by Tom Tykwer, working with Reinhold Heil and Johnny Klimek, who scored Tykwer’s previous films Run Lola Run and Perfume, as well as the television series John From Cincinnati and Deadwood and you can listen to SOUND CLIPS from it, if you visit the releasing label's website at colosseum.de
