SOUND CLIPS from JAMES NEWTON HOWARD's "THE LAST AIRBENDER"

There are two clips of tracks from the Airbender score here - http://www.myspace.com/lastairbender

Airbender Suite is apparently 11 minutes long so the clip is not representative of the entire track, but still the tension is well built up there in the short span too. Flow Like Water sounds really interesting in its own merit as well.

MOVIE INFO AND PLOT:
Centurion is a British film directed by Neil Marshall about the ill-fated Ninth Legion marching north to Caledonia to wipe out the Picts and their leader. Michael Fassbender, Dominic West, and Olga Kurylenko star.

AD 117: The Roman Empire stretches from Egypt to Spain, and east as far as the Black Sea. But in Scotland, the relentless onslaught of conquest has ground to a halt in the face of the guerrilla tactics of an elusive enemy - the savage and terrifying tribes known as the Picts.

Centurion Quintus Dias, the sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, is rescued by the legion of Titus Flavius Virilus, which has been ordered into Caledonia to wipe out the Picts and to kill their king, Gorlacon. When the legion is wiped out in a surprise attack, Dias and six other survivors race to rescue their captured general before they can head back toward the safety of the Roman frontier.

VARESE launches a new limited edition release of JAN A.P.KACZMAREK's "Passchendaele"

Varese releases a new Kaczmarek score, which is very surprising, but only on limited edition CDs which will begin shipping the week of May 17.

Limited Edition of 1000 copies.

Music Composed by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek

Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek has created a powerful, beautiful and dramatic score for the Canadian film Passchendaele. Newly released on DVD and Blu-Ray, Kaczmarek's stunning score at last comes to CD in this special limited edition!

Set during the height of the First World War, Passchendaele tells the story of Sergeant Michael Dunne (Paul Gross), a Canadian soldier who is brutally wounded in France and returns home emotionally and physically scarred. While in the military hospital in Calgary, he meets Sarah (Caroline Dhavernas), a mysterious and attractive nurse for whom he develops a passionate love. When Sarah's younger, asthmatic brother, David (Joe Dinicol), signs up to fight in Europe, Michael feels compelled to return to Europe to protect him. Michael and David, like thousands of Canadians, are sent to fight in the third battle of Ypres, a battle against impossible odds, commonly known as "Passchendaele." It is a story of passion, courage and dedication, showing the heroism of those that fought in battle, and of the ones that loved them.

2. The Attack (2:06)
3. Separation (10:31)
4. Little Town (3:07)

7. Frontline Moves 100 Yards (:59)
8. The Cross (2:25)
9. No Solution (7:25)
10. The War (5:35)

EDWARD SHEARMUR - "mother and child" (2010) [CD]

Naomi Watts - Annette Bening - Kerry Washington - Jimmy Smits and Samuel L. Jackson
Writer/director Rodrigo García (Nine Lives) teams with executive producer Alejandro González Iñárritu to craft MOTHER AND CHILD, a drama highlighting the powerful bond between a mother and her son. It's been years since Karen (Annette Bening) gave her daughter, Elizabeth, up for adoption, and the decision to abandon her child has always haunted her. Upon meeting laid-back Paco (Jimmy Smits), Karen permits her anxiety and mistrust to get the best of her. On the surface it appears that Elizabeth (Naomi Watts) is none the worse for never knowing her biological mother; she's a fast-talking lawyer who's just landed a high-profile job at a firm fronted by Paul (Samuel L. Jackson), though her unsavory penchant for exploiting others is about to blow up in her face.

Composer Edward Shearmur, known for his scores for Reign Of Fire, Charlie’s Angels and Miss Congeniality, proves equally adept at providing a sympathetic and touching musical palette for MOTHER AND CHILD.

SAE says the following:

We are proud to work for the first time with composer Conrad Pope, who is one of the most respected in the Hollywood film music industry due to his duties as an orchestrator for A-list composers such as John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, John Powell, Mark Isham and Alan Silvestri. Among his latest credits is also current monster movie The Wolfman, where he contributed additional music to the Danny Elfman score. Pope's score for Allen Wolf's independent thriller In My Sleep, about a man who wakes up naked in the middle of a cemetary, is a tense and sensual thriller score written for orchestra with poignant parts for solo piano. It's a stylish score which might remind some listeners of the dark beauty of Basic Instinct.
